I apologize for the tardiness of this post. I guess it’s a long, overdue, long blog where I describe my day…for the most part.
This morning I had the intention of going with some of my Philosophy classmates to visit Professor Styranko’s office and talk with him about the final exam. We wanted to talk with him and basically argue with him about some of the questions and make it so that we could get a few extra points. However, Jesse and I were the only ones that showed up to go, and we were an hour late to his office hours. After walking back to my room, I finished up some cleaning, helped Ava move stuff to her car, and watched five minutes of Tangled till William was ready.
We ate at the cafeteria real quick and then headed for the city. The walk there and the train ride were good and dandy. We almost missed our train stop because we were caught in conversation. Our first stop was Union Square and it’s Bazaar. There were so many different shops, from soap to candy to knit goods to recycled fashion to waffles. It was really nice. They even had a little farmer’s market where there were vegetables, flowers, fruits, and breads. I was thankful we came somewhat early because there wasn’t a lot of people. I had spent at least an hour trying to find something for my sister, Laura.
The rest of the day consisted of A LOT of walking. From Union Square we walked around the area to look at shops. In the Barnes and Nobles where I was frantically looking through all of the Nook accessories, William managed to be sneaky and buy my Christmas present. He got me the book set of Game of Thrones T__T ~ Just when I was about to buy the first book in the series. I wanted to cry. I got what I needed, went to Zara, and then we ate at this really good Thai restaurant called Spice. It was seriously good and it wasn’t expensive at all. William paid. I wanted to cry again. You’ll find that throughout the day I wanted to cry many times.
So from Union Square we walked to St. Mark’s and explored a bit. By this time we’re on 8th street. I wanted to go to the Uniqlo on 34th street. It was quite a walk. By the time we got to the Uniqlo, it was almost getting dark. I got a sweater and some v-necks while William did some other Christmas shopping. I really wanted to get a nice winter coat because I’m already dying in 40 degree weather, but the jackets at Uniqlo, while reasonably priced and warm, had some aesthetic flaws that I just could not forgive. From 34th street we decided to walk to Bryant Park because there were cute shops and the CitiPond ice skating rink. Mind you, Bryant Park is like on 40th street, so that wasn’t so bad.
After exploring the Park, the shops, taking pictures with the tree, and overall enjoying the atmosphere, we went more uptown and visited the tree in Rockefeller Center. It’s massive. I even got to watch someone get proposed to. I really hate that. I don’t know. I really just…can’t…handle public proposals. I’d need to make sure I’m wearing an amazing outfit, I just look good all day, and then you can do it…but not in front of a Christmas tree. What kind of significance does that have to me? Okay, that’s a tangent I’d like to come back from.
The tree was really nice! So from there we ended up walking to 60th street and the FAO Schwartz. So much walking, and because of that, we were hungry. So from 60th street we walked all the way down to 32nd street to eat in K-Town. We ate at Haru Hana because it seemed like it wasn’t going to be too busy. The good was amazing~~ except that I cried again when we got the bill. He’s too fast. He even paid for the red mango we had afterwards. OH. RIGHT. We were in this Korean cafeteria place, and I totally thought I saw Steve Aoki, but it wasn’t him. Steve Aoki’s in Rome tonight.
After eating we walked to Madison Square Garden where there was a Swedish House Mafia concert. There were lots of scalpers! It was quite exciting. We ended up going to Times Square and sat on the red stairs for like an hour and a half. I was getting sleepy so we came back to campus. On the F-train back, I was so clutch with stealing two seats from this couple that got off early on. SO CLUTCH.
ANYWAY. I died when I got back to my room, but I finished Tangled, and now I’m staying up with Miguel talking about our emotional damage.
THANK YOU WILLIAM DENG FOR A GREAT DAY T__T. GOOD LUCK ON YOUR CHEMISTRY FINAL THAT YOU TOTALLY PROCRASTINATED ON STUDYING FOR BECAUSE WE SPENT THE WHOLE DAY IN THE CITY WOOOO! YOU CAN ONLY FUCK UP IN COLLEGE RIGHT?
